Raising (physically) Healthy Boys {Podcast Episode 011 with Erin Mohring}
Hi friends!!
It’s been one week since Boy Mom released into the big wide world and my head is still spinning from all of the excitement. I had such a fun celebration with my family, then a launch party with some of our good friends on the island, and then I took off for Seattle to gather with some of my dear childhood friends for a 30 year (pretty big number) class reunion. Isn’t it funny how childhood friends can bring out the kid in you? We laughed so hard my face still hurts.
I’ve been so grateful to see so many people sharing Boy Mom on social media, and leaving reviews on Amazon, and wherever books are sold. (it’s also available at Target, Barnes and Noble, and Walmart, as well as other retailers!) Truly, thank you for all of the support. Boy Mom has been in the top 10 of a few Amazon categories for the last week and consistently a #1 New Release! Every mention and share makes a difference!!
Well, I was very proud of myself for pre-recording a few podcast episodes before the book released, and thought I was all set to share an episode when I got home on Monday…Only to find out we had major technical difficulties. The audio could not be used at all. So, instead of covering Chapter 9 of Boy Mom on schedule, today we are diving into Chapter 10! (hurry and check your book to see what you’re missing! And no worries, I promise we’ll get back to Chapter 9 in a future episode!)
Thankfully, today’s episode was also pre-recorded and one i have looked forward to sharing!! So, today we get to talk about…
RAISING (Physically) HEALTHY BOYS!
I love this interview, and I am so happy for the chance to interview Erin Mohring. Erin is a classic Boy Mom: down-to-earth, funny, a big sports fan, and just so very cool. Like me, Erin is a doctor’s wife, and she and her husband are also more recent converts to salmon, brussel sprouts, and…running!!! We get to talk about al of that in this interview!
If you don’t know Erin, I think this interview will make you feel like you’ve just made a new friend.
As usual there is a lot more on the topic of Raising Physically Healthy Sons in Chapter 10 of Boy Mom, so be sure to get your hands on the book! **Have I mentioned that it is also available in audio edition, so if you prefer to listen to a narrator (ME!) read to you, that’s totally fine too! (link to audio options, here –> BOY MOM AUDIO at Penguin Randomhouse.
I think you’ll love the free resource at the end of chapter 10! It is a list of my family’s top “Boy Approved Foods” to keep on hand, and you can print it out to use for your own family!

A bit more about Erin:
“I am deeply immersed in the world of boys and loving it! After four years of homeschooling, all of our boys are in public school now, which has been a huge blessing for all of us.
I am the co-founder a Million Praying Moms (formerly The MOB Society–) which is a huge blessing and encouragement to ME! Working from home is perfect for me right now with the boys all in school. I also do graphic design for the ministry, as well as freelance writing and speaking.
In my “former” life, I taught elementary music, but now I enjoy cooking, crafting, reading, coffee with friends, date nights, and keeping up on the TV shows we love! Give us some good weather and you may find us on the tennis court as well, although that can be hit-or-miss in Nebraska!
I really enjoy sharing our everyday life and things I love with you! Look for posts about faith, family, fitness, fashion – particularly ethical fashion, raising boys, food, books, and anything else relevant to a modern-day Christian woman, wife, and mama! And I love giving away things to you as well!
Hope you enjoy this podcast episode! If you haven’t yet, be sure to subscribe wherever you like to listen so you’ll be first to know when new episodes are published! ALSO: Have you left a rating or review yet? Please do! It makes such a big difference!! Mahalo!
