Family Dinner Chat: Back to School with a Growth Mindset {Aloha Friday Episode 017}
Hey Friends,
I’m here with an Aloha Friday Podcast Episode on a topic I love so much!
I hope you can take a few minutes to listen to this episode, then gather your family around the table for some intentional conversations! I’m talking back-to-school and MINDSET. Specifially, encouraging our kids to embrace a GROWTH MINDSET. This is a topic I cover in Chapter 9 of Boy Mom, and I love it. It’s simple enough for a kid to understand and yet it can make a profound difference in all of our lives!
At the end of the episode I also respond to a Q&A on the topic of boys and reading. A blog reader asks how to motivate her elementary son to want to read, and I share a fun tip I received from Mr. Andrew Pudewa, the Director of IEW (Institute for Excellence in Writing.) Also: Not all kids love reading when they are young, but the more you read aloud to them, the greater the chance that they will one day develop a love for reading! Keep up the great work! 🙂
A few notes from the episode:
this topic has been on my mind from both my conversation with Amber Lia earlier this week, and my chat with my son Jonah, last Friday.
