One fun thing about living on the North Shore of Oahu is that we are surrounded by all kinds of fascinating people.  Besides local families who have lived here for generations, and the seasonal surfers who come and go, we also have a good number of incredibly talented people:  Artists, photographers, and entrepreneurs, who have found creative ways to survive–even thrive, while enjoying life in paradise.

Jim Russi is one such talent.  Though he is originally from California, Jim has lived on the North Shore of Oahu for many years.  Working as a senior staff photographer for every major surf magazine, and being the lead photographer for Quiksilver’s Roxy campaign, Jim Russi is a respected name in surf photography all over the world.  (You really should check out his web site to see his beautiful work.)  He’s a legend in his own time.

Jim goes to our church, and is raising a couple darling grommets of his own here on the North shore.

Recently, Jim brought his boys up to our house to visit and skate the park with my boys.  He also brought his camera, and offered to share a few fun photos of Josiah and Luke working the park.

While I’m busy doing a few (thousand) other things this week (more on that in a post soon,) I thought it would be fun to just toss out some of these super cool pictures.  Hope you enjoy–
(and yes, Grandma, they all have helmets on! :))

I’ll be back in a day or two with a whole bunch of good stuff.

Monica, and da boyz…

Awesome photo shoot! My boys would die to have a skate bowl in our yard. I don’t think I should let them see this! 🙂 Fun photos, thanks for sharing your beautiful life!
