What We Should Know about Children and Disabilities, with Laura Wifler of Risen Motherhood
How understanding disabilities makes us better family, friends, and neighbors
Laura Wifler, cofounder and executive director of Risen Motherhood, joins us today to talk about disabilities. Laura shares from her experience raising a daughter with a rare chromosome disease, which led to her new children’s book Like Me: A Story About Disability and Discovering God’s Image in Every Person.
I appreciate that Laura is approachable and full of grace on this topic as I asked her to both encourage those listening who are raising a child with a special need or disability, and to offer those of us who are not advice for being a good friend and neighbor to those who are. I think this is an important conversation for all of us and I pray it inspires great conversations in your own home! (Please spread the word about this episode with your people!)
