HE>i Hawaii {Honolulu Grand Opening + GIVEAWAY!}
If you’ve been in Hawaii over the past few years, then this symbol is not new to you. But if you’re like me some people, you might have spent a good year or two quietly guessing at what in the world it means…(“HEki?” “HEdi?”…is it greek?)
I was too embarrassed to ask anyone.
Then, one day I overheard someone mention it: “HE is greater than i.”
Duh. I knew that. So obvious. I mean, I am a home school teacher, and I like, totally get MATH.
The HE>i logo is ALL OVER THE PLACE in Hawaii–on cars, t-shirts, sunglasses, and surfboards. And it is now making its way ALL OVER THE WORLD. The brand originated with a couple local North Shore Oahu guys who were playing with a screen saver on their cell phones. After punching in HE>i, the Bible verse: “He must become greater and greater, I must become less and less” came to mind, (John 3:30) and that is where it all began.
I blogged about the HE>i story two years ago, when this blog was still very new, and I’ve had a lot of people contact me since then to let me know how much they love the brand, and how they are now sporting the symbol in their own communities.
Just recently HE>i opened their first HONOLULU store, and plans for more stores are already in the works!
You can hear more of the He>i story at their website and you can order all the T-shirts, hats, and stickers that you like! 🙂
I visited the new Honolulu store and did some shopping recently.
Here’s a new design. I’m LOVING it:
These tanks come in the very coolest colors. I might have bought one in each color. You know, to support the cause. (These make great gifts guys.)
That’s it: I need another baby.
(But no.)
STICKERS!! Everyone is doing it!
My beautiful niece, looking so cute in her hat!
Hi Annika!

Just saw a bumper sticker in San Antonio. Need a medium shirt!!!

Much aloha-
Hi,
I’ve seen the HE>I sticker on the rear window of cars here in OCEANSIDE, Ca.
I haven’t seen it for sale anywhere. Can I buy one at your store in Hawaii, and how much would it cost?
My address is: 7039 Dassia Way Ca 92056
HI Florence…You can go to the He>i website to ask these questions. (https://hegreaterthani.com) You commented on my blog where I shared about He>i but I am not the brand. 🙂 All the best!!
This is a blog, not the Hehttps://monicaswanson.com/teens-and-instagram/
All the best! 🙂 Aloha-
Do you have any black HE>I rain jackets?
Hi Jeremy! I linked to the He>i store in my post but i am not the store…I just wrote a blog post about them. 🙂 Sorry can’t help you with that!
A Large, blue or red and a car at my church had the decal on it and 532 Eagle rock Road Wendell NC 27591!! 😄
I know this blog is old but I just saw this website and thought I’d share how I heard about it. My soccer coach has a sticker on her car and I told her I like it instantly thinking of he must increase I must decease and thought what a cool reminder that is for you seeing that everyday then she went on to tell me the real thing behind it.
Hi!! My husband loves this logo and it has become a life verse for him! His brothers brought home a t-shirt and bumper sticker from HI and that is how we heard about it! size large mens black tank.
Macon, GA
Hey.. Monica, I just subscribe, and bought a sweatshirt. I am listening to Finding Favour “Just say Amen”
I’m looking for a Decal for my car. I guess I would put it on my inner back glass window. If I decided to put one on the bumper, it would have to withstand the rain and sunshine. I live on Big Island. I’m looking for one now. Also can get like a sticker type to put on my own clothes, well, one that could be silkscreened on. I know it’s all patented, but I mean for sale… I love the message and it speaks VOLUMES to all… please respond… I think the $25.00 for one shirt is kinda too high to pay… I want to support the people who brought this about, so I understand business… Please respond, and God Bless you… Cathy
Hi Cathy,
Sorry, maybe you misunderstood…I am a blogger and I did a review about the HE>i business. I have no affiliation with them! 🙂 You might want to check their web site. 🙂
Good luck! aloha
Love pink and black tank or tee♡♡♡
Saw He> i on the back of cars windows! Living in Southern California you see all sorts of decals….mostly surfer ones. Until going to church this week my boys and I never knew what it TRULY meant. My youngest sat in church and upon looking at the bulletin said,”Mom, that’s some sort of surfer thing. I see it all the time. What does it have to do with church?”
Well that Sunday was exactly what that surfer thing wasn’t about but what HE is about in our lives and a couple of kids from Hawaii made it about;) HE IS GREATER THAN I. An amazing story that kids can relate to in both the Christian life and the life of the ocean. Definitely need to put a decal on my car and display my beliefs! Mahalo!
Karin
1. Maroon med
2. I saw the logo on back windows of cars however, did not realize what the meaning was. Then one day I was driving my 15 year old to school and was trying to read the sticker aloud and she said ” Mom, its He is greater than I “. Oh my goodness, so two things happened, 1 I was impressed that and grateful that my daughter knew what it was. And 2 I loved it!
3. We live in Southern Calif. Lakewood
We are currently in Honolulu and one the stops my daughter mentioned was going to the He>i store. I had no idea there was a store. So, next stop He>i
Hello,
We just returned from Hawaii, our first trip there. We live in China Grove, NC. I saw the logo on several cars and trucks in Honolulu and Waikiki. I thought it was a surfer thing, til we were behind a truck with it on the back window. Then I saw it…Oh! HE is greater than I! What a wonderful reminder and love how the logo makes you think! I’ve ordered stickers for my Sunday school class. We are old, in our 60s. So wonderful to see God loved in such a cosmopolitan and beautiful place.
I would totally be blessed with a Medium size Black T-shirt and would be proud to wear it.
I fell in love with this logo when I saw it on a car window sticker bumper and then again on a friend FB page.
From San Diego, California
I would totally LOVE a pink, purple, maroon or black t-shirt or tank top.
I would see HE>I everywhere, but mostly in a back of everyone cars.
Waipahu, HI 96797 – Village Park. Missing K-Town though! (:
I been wanting to check out the HE>I store, but I’m always working -____- And whenever I pass the store, I just keep hoping that one I’ll finally get to go there and check out all the products and of course buy a couple of new clothes from there! ^-^ <33333
I love the hazy teal color AND the maroon color tanks…it’s so hard to choose!
I first heard of/saw “He>i” my last year of university when I saw another student in the apartment parking garage who had a huge sticker on his back window. It took me ages to figure out what it meant, too!
Currently I live in California, but I am job-searching (just graduated 6 weeks ago!) so who knows where I’ll end up in the coming months. If you know of anyone hiring on the island, I wouldn’t object to moving halfway across the Pacific! 😛
Also, not sure if I’ve commented yet, but I’ve been reading for about a month now and I love your blog. You have a stunning family, your writing is so honest and relatable, and the photos are beautiful!
Thank you so much Dominique! I love to hear when/how long people have been visiting my blog–so glad you shared! 🙂 You’re so sweet.
Good luck with the job search, and it wouldn’t hurt you to look in Hawaii–there are worse places to be! Aloha!!
I would LOVE the purple tank!! I’ve only seen their stuff through your page! And live in sweet home Alabama 🙂
I recently found your blog. I really enjoyed reading your posts! My family loves the beach and we just got back from a beach trip in Florida celebrating our 8-year anniversary with our two babies. I love all your pictures of Hawaii and hope one day we can vacation there! I like the new t-shirt design or the teal tank tee. I have not seen the HE>i brand but hope I can found these online. I live in sweet home Alabama near Auburn. Thanks for sharing your talent with us! It has been a blessing!

I recently subscribed to your blog via email! I’ve been meaning to pick your wondrous blogger brain. So I guess I’ll introduce myself now and tell you how much I love your blog! I have been living in Honolulu for six weeks and my house items will be shipped the beginning of August. We love it here! My husband and I have been so curious what that sign means and when I told him his jaw nearly hit the floor after reciting your post. I also love the color purple 😉
Aloha & Mahalo! Tasia Murrieta <3
Thank you so much Tasia! Glad to meet you! 🙂 Welcome to Hawaii–I’m curious where you moved from?
I’ll head over to your site as well and learn more about you. I look forward to getting to know you!
Aloha!
Love the color pink.
Never heard of this before.
I live in PA.
I have seen the HE>i logo many time in of all places…Hawaii….lol. Seriously, I was one of those at first that had no clue what it meant. Math didn’t even enter into my head. I think it would raise tons of questions which would be a good thing. I like green or white T-Shirt and we live in AZ.
A maroon tshirt would be fun!
I have seen HE>I only here on your blog…..
But I would love to share the love/message here in MINNESOTA!!
Hi, I’m in Australia so don’t think the giveaway is open to me but just wanted to say cool blog and I was on the north shore when the guys came up with the he>i brand, that was about 10-12 yrs ago! I follow their fb page to keep in touch and my husband wears their shirts. I don’t have one yet so will have to make that a priority when we come back. I have 2 boys but still babies so following in your footsteps 🙂
Dark Grey.
I have never seen this logo before but I appreciate the clever symbolism.
San Diego.
Teal tank size medium!!! I live on the North Shore, Pupukea. I see the logo EVERYWHERE!
Kalei
Love this brand and everything it stands for!! My 5yr old son wears their hat and often is asked what it means. Great witnessing tool! We’d LOVE a free tank or tee! Any color, but preferable a light color. We first turned onto the brand thru your blog, but have recently been seeing it around town, here in Encinitas, California!
blue is my fave color 🙂 Never heard of this brand before…OHIO..
Green, Black, Red…..I want them ALL!!! ha ha but I also LOVE the new t-shirts and have been waiting patently for them to come out. Last time I was in the store, I begged them for the shirts…not out yet.
I have been to the store every time that we come to Hawaii as my boys beg me to get something new from the store (they grow out of them so quickly) and of course I always go as I LOVE them to wear the shirts back home to show their faith to everyone. Every time we have friends come with us to Hawaii we always bring them to the store as they see my kids wear the clothing, hats, bracelets and want some of their own. 🙂 I also buy a handful of stickers for my friends cars. I laugh every time time that I see them as I know who is in the car or who the car belongs to……easy to find my friends that way. hee hee I love that I have brought a little of Hawaii back to my hometown. Oh yah that hometown would be GIG HARBOR!!
Wow I just discovered your blog and love it! I’m a mommy to 2 girls and pregnant with #3. I’m a subscriber now and so looking forward to reading your updates! I would love a purple tank! I have never heard of this brand but I love the message. 🙂
The maroon tank in medium please! I have only seen it on your website. I live between Baltimore and DC in Maryland.
I have not seen the logo before and maybe that was because my only trip to Hawaii was around 6 years ago. I would love to receive a tank in teal or purple. I live in Cullman, AL and would love to spread the word here. We have a lot of boutiques that would love to get on board in this Christian family town.
I like ALL the colors! I guess blue?!?! If I had to choose just one?
I actually have a black HE>i trucker hat and LOVE their stuff!
I live in High Point, NC
I like ALL the colors! I guess blue?!?! If I had to choose just one?

LOL! I soooo have the same story! 🙂 Of course – it was also nice to be on the other end (the one who knew the answer!) when someone stopped me to ask what in the world this symbol meant that they were seeing ALL over the island! 🙂
I love all their things – my first t-shirt was purple, but it somehow got a stain (and I still stubbornly have it in my drawer with the hope that the stain will magically go away…)
I don’t remember when I first saw the logo – and I’m from Honolulu! 🙂
Hi, I’d love to recieve a tank in green or purple.
As of last week, I had only seen this logo your blog but I was hooked; so I went to their website for more info and to get my hands on some merchandise. My church group will love to sport these around town. It will be the perfect lead-in to sharing our faith:)
I live in Greeneville, Tennessee. It’s a small town in the northeast region of the state… roughly an hour drive from Virginia, North Carolina or Kentucky; depending on which direction you go.
Thanks for your comment Roxanne! So glad you like the HE>i merchandise! Yes–it is such a unique and non-threatening opener to sharing with others. LOVE it. And glad you will be introducing many others to it to! 🙂 yay. I’ve never been to Tennessee–hope to one day make it to that part of the country! Aloha!
I love the teal or the dark burgundy tank (or tee).
Lets see where have I seen the logo, My water bottle, my other waterbottle (where I put some stickers), the tee shirt I wore last friday on the the middle school trip with your nephew, oh yeah on your nephew at youth group (we have managed to wear them on the same night even), on your sister in law’s van, on your brother in laws car.
And I live in McMinnville Oregon.
Well, if the giveaway were based on MOST SIGHTINGS of the HE>i logo–you would win. 🙂
Thanks Sandy–and thanks for looking after that wild child Aidan. Haha.
After last weeks trip I am pretty sure there was a point where we were close to him looking after me.
And let’s just say, it’s easier to figure out the logo when Aidan is wearing the shirt than when I am.
Ok, THAT is hilarious. 🙂
Hey Monica! Super excited about this giveaway! I’d love a charcoal tank or whatever T would be great to cut the neck out of! I first heard about HE>I back in…2009-2010 when my good friend who lives in Honolulu first started talking about the buzz. I’m landlocked here in the AZ desert where I’ve only seen a few stickers here and there on transplant cars still rockin’ their HI plates and college students in our area near ASU. I’d love to get hooked up! Hope you’re enjoying WA! xo
1. I’d love a teal or purple tank
2. I’ve never seem them before but LOVE the design!
3. I live in St. Augustine, Fl
Ps- my birthday is July 3rd, so this would be a great present 😉
Love the evergreen tank.
I actually saw a sticker with the logo on the back of a car in San Marcos, TX
I live in Kyle, TX
You know what I absolutely love? That it is such a simple unassuming logo, but there is such a powerful message behind it. So awesome!
Ok…so, after looking at their website (which is fabulous!), I would pick the Girl’s Logo Tank in Evergreen.
This blog post is the first time I’d seen the HE>i logo.
I live in the great country of Texas. 😉
I had never heard of HE>i before reading about it on your blog! Thanks for introducing me to a great brand. I think Iike the purple tank best. I live in Snohomish, WA.
P.S. hope you and the boys are enjoying your trip to the Pacific Northwest!
I’m kind of blushing from embarrassment now – I’ve seen that logo before and just never knew what it meant! Too funny 🙂 I’d probably get something for Wes – the black or green kids’ shirts are too cute!
I love red or turquoise!
My sister, Danielle lives in Hawaii and introduced me to the brand. I love it.
I live in Detroit, MI (Formerly Honolulu, HI)

McMinnville, OR
Hi! I’ll get this started………….I first saw HE>I on your blog, which I found almost two years ago after my trip to Oahu, and was wishing I would have seen this awesome logo while I was there. I would be happy with a tee in any color, just so I can spread the word here in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Thanks!
My favorite colors are red and purple, so one of them. We have lived in Hawaii for almost a year now, and I have just recently figured out what this stands for. Love it. I had seen a few when we lived in VA. My daughter was at Liberty for awhile and that’s where I saw it for the first time. I thought it was a college thing. After we moved here and I started seeing it again, my daughter told me what it meant! I, like you, thought “well I knew that”! Going to have to find this store so I can buy some for my nieces and nephews.
I would love a pink tank or tee; I’ve never heard of or seen this awesome brand; I live in Baton Rouge, LA.
Color Blue.
Have seen your HE > I from prior post and am subscribed. And ordered bracelets for my Boys.
North Bend, WA
