The power of praying for our sons, with Brooke McGlothlin.

Aloha!  I am so happy to share today’s episode with you!  My friend and guest, Brooke McGlothlin,  joins me to chat about praying for our sons.  After praying specifically that God would give her sons, Brooke felt completely unprepared for the “250% boy” – boys that He gave her.  This brought her to her knees, and changed her life, from the inside out.

Many of you already know about Brooke from some of her books (listed below!) or if you’ve followed along with the MOB (Mother of Boys) Society or her new community: Million Praying Moms!  But in today’s episode I love hearing more of Brooke’s personal story and some very practical ways we can all incorporate prayer into our lives, homes, and marriages!

A few notes from our conversation:

PRAY THE WORD JOURNAL

— verses mentioned:
Ezekiel 36:26:  “And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you.  And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”

Hebrews 4:12:  “For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”

This episode was amazing! I just listened to it this week as I am trying to go back & listen to episodes I missed before I discovered you & became a regular listener.
Thank you both for your honesty & wise words. I loved how you posted the prayer outside the boys rooms! You also opened my eyes to how I can be effective at praying for my 2 sons. I have told so many friends to listen to this episode, whether they are girl or boy moms, because this info is so good! Thank you again! It truly blessed me!

This was a great conversation! Praying Gods Word–and surrendering all to Him–for my sons has brought such peace and calm to my worried heart, especially in these teen years. I really appreciated both of your insights, and encouragement to be in God’s Word. Thank you for this.
