I am pretty sure you will agree: Entitlement has become an epidemic among our kids. We are raising children in a quick-fix society, where everything they want seems to be available at the touch of a button (or a holler out to Alexa!) Many of us (me included!) have grown frustrated with this issue, and wonder if there is some way to fight against it.
Kristen Welch, founder of Mercy House Global, and author of “Raising Grateful Kids in an Entitled World” (among other great books) joins us today to talk about gratitude – what she calls the antidote for entitlement!!
Kristen is sharing 6 ways we can “train our kids” (and ourselves) in gratitude…These are practical and do-able — at the holidays, and all year long.
Note! — > If you want to hear more on this topic of gratitude (and the issue of entitlement) be sure to check out my Character Training Course, which will open its doors for a special THANKSGIVING SALE beginning Monday, November 22nd 2021. Find out more here: www.monicaswanson.com/character-course.

6 Ways to Cultivate Gratitude:
1. Write it down!
2. Watch your Mouth (Proverbs 18:21)
3. Walk in someone else’s shoes.
4. Fill your home with visual reminders.
5. Be specific!
6. Choose gratitude, even in your pain.
“Without a doubt, the best way to teach gratitude is to model it.” – Kristen Welch
“Research shows that children under the age of seven don’t usually spontaneously show gratitude, but they learn it from repetition of observation and prompting.” – Kristen Welch.

Thank you so much to this episode’s sponsor…The DWELL BIBLE APP!
Have you discovered Dwell yet? (see discount link below!)
Dwell is a Bible app we’ve fallen in love with! Their mission is inspired by the Psalmist who encourages us in Psalm 119 to hide the word of God in our hearts. Dwell has built the most beautiful listening and reading experience for the scriptures. They have over a dozen new recordings of the Bible; they’ve hand-picked voices that will engage and inspire you! And they have the best versions of the Bible too, like the ESV, NIV, KJV, NLT, The Message, and others.
I am using the Dwell App to read along and work on my Scripture memory! And I have good news…
