We love so many charities and ministries and wish we could support them all.
This is a list of organizations and charities that we are connected to in some way.
Some link to a post that I have written, and others directly to the site’s web page.
Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy: My nephew Micah has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Read a little about his story and link to the page where you can learn more about the disease and how to help find a cure for it.
Wycliffe Bible Translators: Dave’s Aunt and Uncle are full-time missionaries to the Zapotec Indians in Mexico. They are incredible people who have invested their life to serve these people, and we are so proud to call them family. Wycliffe does Bible Translation work all over the world, and help spread the Gospel to people who would never hear it otherwise.
Walking On Water: If you’ve read this blog for a while, you’ve heard all kinds of talk about our love for the Walking on Water Ministry. Walking On Water is a Christian non-profit organization dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with this generation’s global surfing community since 1995.
WOW uses surf films, and surf camps to share stories of faith and overcoming. This ministry has touched people all over the world. I am a writer for the WOW website and monthly newsletter. (sign up to receive one at their site!)
Young Life Hawaii: I first became a Christian through Young Life Ministry and we are now close friends with the Young Life Hawaii Director and his family. This is an amazing para-church ministry worth checking out.
Courage Worldwide Hawaii. Sex Trafficking is an enormous problem throughout the world, including in the United States, and here in Hawaii. Courage Worldwide Hawaii is committed to not only rescuing child victims of sex trafficking, but also to restoring their lives by providing a safe home for female, minor victims of sex trafficking.
(Courage House Hawaii Facebook Page.)
World Vision: We have supported kids through World Vision since we were first married. World Vision is an awesome organization dedicated to working with children, families, and and their communities, to help them reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. We are currently supporting a child in Lebanon.
Surfing the Nations: You might remember Josiah’s month-long trip to Indonesia with Surfing the Nations. STN is located nearby in Wahiawa. STN impacts local and international communities through the sport of surfing and selfish selfless service by meeting needs and changing lives.
