GOOD EATS!
Where we like to eat, drink, and snack on the North Shore Of Oahu.

BREAKFAST/COFFEE:

CAFE HALEIWA:
Casual, diner/surfer-style.  This has been a popular breakfast spot for many years.   Also open for lunch, and now dinner Thursday-Sunday.  (Dinner has become one of my favorites as it goes from diner/casual style for breakfast, to edgy-chic at night…small menu, but very interesting selection.)
808-637-5516
66-460 Kamehameha Hwy.  Haleiwa.

COFFEE GALLERY:
Locally grown coffee brewed here.  Incredible baked goods (gluten free and vegan options) and indoor/outdoor seating.  A local favorite for years.

ISLAND VINTAGE COFFEE:
Great coffee and amazing breakfast and snack options.  Right in the middle of the newly renovated part of Haleiwa.  Indoor/outdoor seating.

TED’S BAKERY:
A local landmark/favorite.   Just past Sunset Beach.  Casual, North Shore style.  Eat outside.  Bring a pie (or 2) home.  (also open for lunch daily, and dinner, Wed-Sun.)

59-024 Kamehameha Hwy.

KONOS:
In the North Shore Marketplace.  We love this casual spot for breakfast burritos, waffles, and carmelized banana milkshakes…Hard to beat it.

LUNCH:

THE BEEET BOX CAFE
Recently the Beet Box moved from the back of Celestial Foods to it’s own location next door.  It is beautiful, and serves the most amazing healthy foods, drinks, baked good (gluten free options)…Kombucha on tap…seriously my go-to for healthy food.  (Breakfast also here.)

SPROUT SANDWICH SHOP
This is new and SO GOOD!  The best sandwiches after a surf!  (Or grab sandwiches to take to the beach.)  Luke’s favorite:  The Crater.  Dave loves the Floater.  (They’re ALL good!)

WAIALUA BAKERY
Fantastic Sandwiches, smoothies, and all kinds of baked goodies.
(Also check out the Facebook page with profile pic of my boys and I from HAWAII magazine!)

KUA AINA BURGERS
Juicy fresh-fish burgers, hamburgers, fries, and sandwiches.  Dripping with goodness.  (also open for dinner.  Especially good for exhausted, hungry surfers!)
66-160 KAM Hwy.

FOOD TRUCKS!!  Food trucks have grown in popularity over the past few years.  There are various food trucks all over the North Shore, some sitting alone along the road, and others gathered in groups.  In Haleiwa town you’ll find everything from shrimp to Thai to local foods, and more.  A few of our personal favorites:  Dat Cajun Guy   , Souvaly Thai , and Haleiwa Bowls.  Just past Waimea Bay, across from Shark’s Cove there is a huge (newer) gathering of food trucks as well.  PLENTY to choose from.  A few of our family favorites:  Shark’s Cove Grill, and Pupukea Grill.   Always new ones popping up. 🙂

DINNER:

HALEIWA JOES, Seafood Grill:
Deck dining or inside, casual-elegant, and just what you expect for a dinner out in Hawaii.  With torches lit, the ambience is wonderful.  Great fresh fish, steak, and so on…Open for lunch as well.  Save room for dessert!  Visit the web site HERE.

BANZAI SUSHI  Read a review HERE.  We are absolute regulars at Bonzai!  Go early if you want a seat, it fills up as it gets late.  Surf videos on big screen, and sometimes live music as well.  See menu and more info at their web site.

LEI LEIS’S on the golf course at Turtle Bay  Great food, great service.  One of our favorites.

THE BEACH HOUSE, HALEIWA  Great food, amazing sunset views of Haleiwa beach and harbor.

CHOLOS MEXICAN

DESSERTS/REFRESHMENTS/ICE CREAM:

SHAVE ICE  Of course you MUST get shave ice on the North Shore!!  There are a few famous names–Matsumotos, and Aoki’s, being the most popular.  We also love to get shave ice at the Aloha General Store in the North Shore Marketplace.

SCOOP OF PARADISE:  Our local ice cream shop, now in two locations in Haleiwa.  Homemade ice cream.  They also carry a great selection of kids specialty items–great for gifts or spoiling your little one while you’re out.
66-145 KAM Hwy.
808-634-3456

HALEIWA BOWLS:  Walk up to the little grass shack right down the main street of town for a Acai Bowl, smoothie, or other treat.  We have just recently discovered this stop, and we love it.  The service is always with a smile.  Aloha served Monday-thru-Sunday.
