  1. Aww Monica, that is so great that you guys were able to get away for a few nights for your anniversary! 20 years of marriage is amazing and can I say, hashtag goals?! 😂

Ever since having kids, we haven’t done any getaways BUT we are finally going to Costa Rica in July for a week and am so excited for that time to reconnect.

Aloha Monica and Dave, Congrats on #20! We just celebrated our #30th last month, and we bought a camper van, and went camping in Central Oregon! We are now empty nesters so getting away, on the spur of the moment, is a little easier. All our childen took their down bags with them, so we were left freezing with the left over canvas sleeping bags, next stop REI for new down bags, and then we head to the coast for more camping. Looking forward to being back on the North Shore for the summer and warmer weather ;).
Mahalo nui loa for sharing your 20th, and many more to you and Dave.

  3. Sounds like your getaway was full of your favorite things! We try to get away for a weekend each year, just the two of us and it is an amazing time to connect. We like weekend trips where ,once we arrive, we can walk or use public transportation. Waikiki would be perfect for that. Miami,FL, Tempe AZ and Redondo Beach, CA are great for walking. We find adding a car adds to the temptation to make an agenda ( so much to see!) and adds stress of driving in a new place. Plus, when you walk you can hold hands! Congrats on 20 years and here’s to 60 more!

    1. Yes, you are so right Shannon! Love the walking theme! And I also love the idea of 60 more! 🙂 Much aloha-

Heading back to Zion National Park for 4 days in a few weeks for our 15th anniversary. We were last there for our honeymoon. Just having it on the calendar helped get us through a bit of a rough patch this winter!

    1. Oh that sounds beautiful!! I hope it will be even better than the honeymoon! Aloha, thank you for commenting!

  5. What fun! Congratulations on 20 years. We celebrate 15 years this year and my 40th birthday. Not sure what the plan is but maybe a couple nights in the Napa Valley wouldn’t be half bad. 🙂 Dave reminds me of my hubby. Funny, goofy guy. Wishing you another blessed 20 more years together. BTW, what restaurants do you recommend in Waikiki? I haven’t been to Oahu in years but we would like to get back there next year.

    1. Thank you Kim! You are right on track behind us (I turned 40 at our 15th too. ;)) We don’t spend a lot of time in Waikiki, but Buho (I linked to it in the post) was really good and there are many other new trendy restaurants popping up as well. Someday I’ll get a list up on my blog! 🙂 Much aloha-

  6. Your trip looks so fun and relaxing! My hubby and I are getting ready to celebrate our second anniversary in Kauai. We’re planning on snorkeling, hiking and kayaking! I know you live on a different island, but I’d love any tips you may have!

    1. Thank you Amanda! I’ve only been to Kauai for a quick weekend, but your plan sounds perfect! I would likely just pick up a Kauai travel book like everyone else and go for it! 🙂 I spent one weekend on the North Shore and it was gorgeous!! ENJOY!
